In their opening match, they staved off elimination by taking down Stephen F. Austin for the second time in as many days, which moved them into the semifinals where they drew No. 1 UCLA. Their run in Hawaii ended there after dropping the semis match to the Bruins, which puts the Gaels at 2-4 after their first tournament of the spring season.
