MORAGA, Calif. — When the 2016 Saint Mary’s beach volleyball season began it would have seemed obvious that lone senior Dalas Dodd would be the go-to leader of the young Gaels team.
But when she arrived for the spring, she felt like a freshman all over again.
“For me this beach season was really unique because I wasn’t here for the indoor season, so when I first got here I felt like I was a freshman all over again even though I was a fifth-year senior,” said Dodd. “Coming into it I didn’t want to take a strong leadership role in that regard.
