DAVIS, Calif. — The Saint Mary’s baseball team’s bats woke up late Tuesday to the sound of a four-run eighth inning rally, earning the Gaels another comeback win in a 5-2 non-conference victory at the Dobbins Baseball Complex.
Saint Mary’s (11-5) entered the eighth trailing 2-1, and that’s when it went to work. Four of the Gaels’ first five batters reached safely, included three straight singles from Jackson Thoreson, Edward Haus and Kevin Milam. Rasso scrambled to third on a bobble by UC Davis left fielder Ryan Anderson. That allowed Haus to drive him in, tying the game at 2-2.
