MORAGA, Calif. — A quick start to the 2016 season continues Tuesday for the Saint Mary’s baseball team as the Gaels hit the road for the first time this season, traveling to UC Santa Barbara after opening the year with a four-game series at home.
Saint Mary’s (3-1) earned a season-opening series victory last weekend versus Seattle University by winning three of four games. Two of the victories came in comeback style while the third was a pitching duel won 1-0 by Johnny York. The Gaels will throw freshman left-hander Ty Madrigal in Tuesday’s game at the Gauchos (4-0).
