LOS ANGELES — It appears the Saint Mary’s baseball team has rediscovered its offense.
The Gaels scored nine runs Saturday on 15 hits – their most in a month – in a 9-3 win over Loyola Marymount at George C. Page Stadium to clinch their seventh straight West Coast Conference series victory.
Saint Mary’s (26-18, 14-6 WCC) has now outscored LMU (24-23, 12-11 WCC) 17-6 in the first two games of the series and outhit the Lions 23-13 after an 8-3 win in Friday’s opener. The Gaels’ 15 hits were their most since collecting 21 at Pacific on April 8 and broke a streak of 10 straight games without double-digit hits.
