BSB | No. 19 Gauchos Knick Gaels In Extras

MORAGA, Calif. — For the 18th time this season Tuesday the Saint Mary’s baseball team erased a deficit and evened the score, but it was No. 19 UC Santa Barbara that came away with a victory, beating the Gaels 4-3 in a non-conference game at Louis Guisto Field.

UC Santa Barbara (26-10-1) stranded 12 runners Tuesday, nine in scoring position. But the Gauchos got their leadoff runner on for the sixth time in the game to start the 11th, beginning what would eventually be the game-winning rally. Back-to-back leadoff singles by J.J. Muno and Tevin Mitchell put men on first and second with no outs in a tie 3-3 game.
