LOS ANGELES — The Saint Mary’s baseball team’s offense continued to prove it was back on track Sunday with two home runs, but five unanswered runs helped Loyola Marymount avoid a three-game sweep at the hands of the Gaels with a 5-3 win in the West Coast Conference series finale at George C. Page Stadium.
Edward Haus and Zach Kirtley both hit home runs in the game for Saint Mary’s (26-19, 14-7 WCC), who still holds a one-game lead over BYU and Gonzaga for first place in the conference. Haus hit his second homer of the year to break up what was a scoreless pitching duel with two outs in the top of the fifth.
