OMAHA, Neb. — Saint Mary’s infielder Zach Kirtley received his second preseason All-American nod ahead of the 2017 season Monday when he was named to D1Baseball.com’s Preseason All-American Third Team.
Kirtley was also named a Perfect Game/Rawlings Third Team Preseason All-American in January. Kirtley was a Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American at the conclusion of his rookie 2015 season. As a sophomore last season, he was named first team all-West Coast Conference and earned Most Valuable Player honors at the WCC Tournament.
Kirtley hit .323 with seven home runs and 20 doubles in 2016.
