MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary’s baseball team will receive its 2016 West Coast Conference championship rings Thursday during a halftime ceremony at the Gaels’ men’s basketball game versus Pacific.
The halftime recognition will honor the Gaels, who won their first-ever WCC regular season and tournament championships last season. With the championships, the program also made its first-ever trip to an NCAA Regional in June.
Saint Mary’s won its most games (33) in nearly four decades last season en route to its WCC championship. Head coach Eric Valenzuela was named WCC Coach of the Year and six Gaels earned all-WCC recognition.
