MORAGA, Calif. -- Early runs and a relentless offense helped BYU clinch a West Coast Conference series on Saturday with a 6-2 victory over the Saint Mary's College baseball team at Miller Park.
BYU (13-11, 3-2 WCC) scored two early runs in the first inning, but the Gaels (17-9, 3-2 WCC) answered with two runs in the top of the second. It was the second day in a row that the teams combined for multiple runs in the first three innings.
Joey Fiske extended his current hitting streak to nine games with a 1 for 4 performance.
