NEW YORK — Saint Mary’s junior right-handed pitcher Corbin Burnes continued to receive top recognition Thursday when he was listed No. 37 on MLB.com’s annual list of the Top 100 Draft Prospects.
Burnes is the No. 20 pitcher on the top prospects list, and the No. 14 right-hander. Burnes’ scouting report on the list calls him “an excellent athlete, reminding some of D-Backs prospect Braden Shipley.”
The 2016 MLB Draft will take place on June 9-11, consisting of 40 rounds over three days. Burnes was not drafted out of high school. 2016 is his first year of draft eligibility as a college junior.
