MORAGA, Calif. – A number of Gaels have been competing in summer leagues throughout the nation this offseason, with standout performances by junior Gio Diaz, sophomore Dalton Ponce, and others.

Gio Diaz – Bethesda Big Train
After a strong season with the Gaels where he played predominantly in the shortstop position, junior Gio Diaz continues to succeed with the Bethesda Big Train in the Cal Ripken Summer League. Diaz recorded a 0.318 batting average while collecting 41 hits, 27 RBI, seven doubles and one home run.
