BASE | Gaels Take Down Spartans in San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Saint Mary's Baseball used nine pitchers and scored eight runs on 11 hits to get the mid-week win in San Jose, 8-3 over the Spartans.

A solo home run put San Jose State on the board first in the bottom of the second, but that would be the last time the Gaels would trail.

SMC got their own solo home runs on back-to-back blasts by Jerad Mettam and in the top of the third to make it 2-1 Saint Mary's. The long-ball parade continued in the fourth when hit the longest homer of the day for the Gaels after a single, and it was 4-1 SMC in the fourth.
