SAN FRANCISCO – For the second-straight day USF had a walk-off win against the Gaels, this time hitting a solo home run in the ninth to win 7-6 on Sunday and take the series.
The Gaels stranded nine runners on the day, but led 6-2 after the top of the sixth and 6-4 going into the bottom of the eighth.
They trailed 1-0 going into the third when a single by scored and a triple to center by scored Almanza and for a two-run Gaels lead.
The Dons got one back in the bottom of the third, but it came in as the Gaels turned a double play, trading two for one and keeping their lead at 2-1.
