After what has seemed like a never-ending wait, the 2017 UEFA Champions League is finally underway. This week, we will take a look at how the top four favorites to win this year’s competition fared during their campaign openers.

As expected, the current Champions, and this year’s top favorite, got off to a more than comfortable start. Real Madrid, who is looking to win an unprecedented three straight titles, seemed to breeze past their Cypriot opponents, Apoel Nicosia, in a game that ended 3-0 in favor of the Spanish team.
