The Sacramento Kings came into the 2018-19 season with very little expectations. After all, this was a team that had missed the playoffs in each of the past 13 seasons and had, by most standards, been one of the laughing stocks of the NBA.
But something incredible happened last season. The Kings overachieved and saw the development of many of their young players.
De’Aaron Fox emerged as one of the best young point guards in the league after a disappointing rookie campaign. Buddy Hield broke out and finished the year as a 20-point-per-game scorer establishing himself as one of the best shooters in the entire NBA.
