The Sacramento Kings made one of the boldest moves this offseason by shipping away Jason Thompson, Carl Landry, and Nik Stauskas to Philly. All of them, just to increase their chances of landing new talent in free agency / trade. It was a high risk / high reward scenario that probably many teams wouldn’t even consider, but fortunately the Kings have Vlade Divac as VP of personnel.
Although the trade ended up benefiting the Kings, Thompson and Landry are now gone, and it leaves the question of who the starting power forward should be next season.
