The Sacramento Kings currently hold a record of 6-3 for the season which has them currently ranked fifth in the Western Conference standings. Not many expected the Kings to be this good to start the year. Heck, many expected them to be in the basement not just in the West but in the NBA.
Due to the Kings’ hot start, many in the NBA world are surprised by their performance, including Jeff Van Gundy who is a well-known color commentator for ESPN. When Mike Breen and Van Gundy commentated the Indiana Pacers-New York Knicks game the other night, Van Gundy gave a shout out to Kings’ coach Dave Joerger as a serious candidate for the Coach of the Year Award.
