Sacramento Kings News: Rookie Eric Moreland Undergoes Successful Shoulder Surgery

The Sacramento Kings got some good news this weekend, as rookie forward Eric Moreland underwent successful surgery on a torn labrum in his left shoulder on Saturday.

Per the Sacramento Kings' official website, "the surgery was performed by Dr. Arthur Ting in Fremont, California, after an initial consultation with Kaiser Permanente."

Moreland is scheduled to start his rehabilitation process immediately, and he should be ready to go for the team's 2015 NBA Summer League schedule in Las Vegas.

The 6-10 forward wasn't much of a factor for the Kings this year, totalling just two points and one rebound in two minutes of work before his injury. However, he averaged 13.7 points (.592 FG%), 12.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game in seven impressive contests with the NBA D-League's Reno Big Horns.

While Moreland is likely a project for the Kings going forward, a successful recovery will likely vault him into the frontcourt mix for the team in 2015-16.
