In the wake of last Saturday's 41-0 loss at Indiana, Rutgers coach Chris Ash was asked what his team is playing for in its regular-season finale against Michigan State.
Without a bowl berth to play for, Ash said the goal was to get back to "playing like we did when we won a couple of games.''
In other words, Ash wants to rediscover the formula that led the Scarlet Knights to wins over Big Ten foes' Illinois, Purdue and Maryland.
"We're still trying to get another Big Ten win,'' Ash said, reiterating that point Monday during his weekly press conference.
