Will Gio Rescigno be a dual threat again? Rutgers QB no longer 'limited' by injury

PISCATAWAY -- Giovanni Rescigno might have run away with the Rutgers starting quarterback job at the end of last season ... if he could've run at all.

But Rescigno injured his hamstring during his first career start -- while rushing for 63 yards in a two-point loss against Minnesota -- and lost the ability to be a dual threat. It showed as his numbers dipped over the final four games, with defenses playing him as a straight passer.

"The first quarter at Minnesota I ran the ball pretty well, and then I got hurt and was pretty limited the rest of the season," Rescigno said.
