Why struggling against Ohio State was a good thing for Rutgers QB Johnathan Lewis

PISCATAWAY -- Johnathan Lewis attempted 10 running plays, gaining a total of 27 yards in Rutgers' 56-0 loss to Ohio State.

The freshman quarterback also attempted 10 passes, completing three for 21 yards and tossing two interceptions.

By any measure, it was a struggle for Lewis in his fourth game as a Scarlet Knight.

Yet, Lewis might've gained more valuable experience in defeat than he did when he totaled five touchdowns in the blowout win over FCS-foe Morgan State.

"When you're on the receiving end of that blowout it's a real learning experience,'' Lewis said.
