And the fact that top in-state guys like Bo Melton and Micah Clark were sold on the process early on let other recruits know it was "okay" to stay home. But this year, the staff is recruiting against results, coming off a two-win season. And although no one expected the team to improve overnight, 2016 was still a pretty rough year. Hence, a lot of in-state guys have taken more of a wait-and-see approach to Rutgers and what the team can accomplish in 2017.
