This past weekend, the Rutgers fanbase was shocked to find out West Orange (N.J.) three-star defensive end Bryce Nelms had committed to Pitt while on an official visit to the school, during a weekend which saw the program land 13 pledges. Rutgers was thought to lead for the past few months, bolstered by strong family ties to the school and the numerous visits he's taken to campus. So did he just get caught up in the wave or is it a pledge that will stick?
We first caught up with West Orange head coach James Matsakis, and then the 6-6, 250-pounder rising senior himself to gain an understanding of what went down.
