When Rutgers coach Chris Ash put off the quarterback decision on the heels of offensive coordinator Jerry Kill's Aug. 8 statement that he hoped to decide on a starter "in a week or so,'' it led us to one conclusion:
Ash wanted to see the NJ.com poll results on who the fans wanted to start at quarterback.
We kid, of course.
Still, Rutgers' fans have spoken and the results are clear: they want a fresh face engineering the offense Sept. 1, when the Scarlet Knights host Washington in the season opener.
