PISCATAWAY -- The wide open Rutgers quarterback competition is underway, and the first pass thrown in a QB-only drill was delivered by Kyle Bolin.
But that obviously means little, considering after Bolin darted two completions off out patterns the next quarterback in line was walk-on Rob Nittolo.
And while Gio Rescigno was the third QB in the drill, the fourth-year junior was the lone quarterback working with the first-team in the other team periods viewed during the one-hour window for the media Monday as the Scarlet Knights held their first preseason practice.
Under clear skies and in mid-80 degree temperatures, Rutgers practiced on the intramural fields adjacent to the baseball and softball complexes on the Livingston Campus.
