When does Rutgers football training camp begin?

CHICAGO -- While NFL training camps traditionally begin in July, college football teams generally start what they call their "fall camp'' in August.

That won't be the case this year, as the NCAA's recent restriction on two-a-day practices caused the 29-practice college football preseason to begin one week earlier than in the past.

Essentially, every college football team will have a five-week training camp instead of four leading into their respective season openers.

At Rutgers, coach Chris Ash's second training camp as the Scarlet Knights head coach begins this weekend.
