As he discussed why Rutgers has found success on the recruiting trail since he took the head coaching job last December, Chris Ash deflected the praise and lobbed it to the players on his team who, he said, "create the type of environment that recruits wanted to be a part of.''

"It started in our own locker room,'' Ash said last week from the podium at Big Ten Media Day. "We wanted to create a culture in our locker room that our players bought into, believed in, and they could go out and sell to recruits.
