When news popped last summer that nine University of Florida football players were suspended after they were charged with various degrees of credit card fraud, Rutgers coach Chris Ash said he “talked about it with our football team.’’
“We talked about it a year ago — around this same time a year ago, in August, (when) that case came up,’’ Ash said. “We have an area in our locker room where we’ve got articles posted up so guys can walk through and read that stuff. We’ve got team meetings and presentations.
“So we do a lot of things to try to educate our players on what’s going on around the landscape of athletics in general — not just football — but athletics in general.
