LINCOLN, Neb. -- Rutgers coach Chris Ash stepped to the podium for his post-game press conference following his team's
to Nebraska and commended his players' efforts.
"We played extremely hard today,'' he said to start his opening statement.
Ash then credited the team's "preparation'' and "focus'' before offering his best reasoning for why the Scarlet Knights lost their Big Ten opener.
"Bottom line,'' he said, "is we just made too many mistakes to win a football game on the road.''
