PISCATAWAY -- In a makeshift interview room following Rutgers' loss at Nebraska, Kiy Hester said his eyes get wide immediately after he snags an interception.
The redshirt junior clearly has a knack for registering pick-6 interceptions. Perhaps it stems from his days as a wide receiver at DePaul Catholic in Wayne, N.J., where he scored eight touchdowns and recorded 880 yards on his 44 receptions over his final two scholastic campaigns.
Whatever the reason, Hester is making a habit of scoring touchdowns after grabbing an interception. The 6-0, 208-pounder from Plainfield did it again Saturday against Maryland, turning an interception into a 52-yard score to help give Rutgers a 17-7 advantage.
