WATCH: NJ.com writers break down Washington's shellacking of Rutgers

SEATTLE — Rutgers coach Chris Ash didn't mince words in his opening statement following his team's 48-13 loss at Washington.

"Obviously,'' he said, "(it) wasn't the outcome that we wanted coming out here to Washington playing a very good football team.''

And NJ Advance Media's writers didn't mince words, either.

The Scarlet Knights clearly weren't the caliber of a Washington team that entered the season ranked No. 14 nationally in The Associated Press Top 25.

The Huskies dominated every phase of the game, out-gaining the Scarlet Knights 380-304 in total yards from scrimmage and scoring on both a kick return and punt return in a game that wasn't as close as the final score indicated.
