PISCATAWAY -- Okay, so Rutgers' Scarlet-White game didn't include the team's best all-around player (Janarion Grant), its top returning receiver (Jawuan Harris) and arguably the defense's most talented player.
But then there's this: the Rutgers gameplan on display in the intrasquad scrimmage before approximately 5,000 fans was, in head coach Chris Ash's words, "very vanilla on both sides of the ball.''
"We got quite a bit of the offense in this spring. Today, I don't know, maybe 10 percent of it we ran,'' Ash said following a spring game won by a Scarlet squad of first-team players.
