PISCATAWAY -- Giovanni Rescigno is Rutgers' starting quarterback, but that doesn't mean he is starting Saturday against Purdue.
If you are confused, let us help.
As first reported by NJ Advance Media, Rescigno replaced Kyle Bolin as the unannounced starting quarterback last week. He played well enough in leading Rutgers to a 35-24 victory against Illinois that he earned the right to keep the job.
Except that he took a helmet-to-knee hit in the fourth quarter that left him with a bone bruise and forced him out of the game for a pivotal late-game touchdown drive.
