Underrated N.J. football recruits thriving on college football's biggest stage

Smith, now a 6-2, 300-pound red-shirt sophomore, is a member of the two-deep at Marshall after accumulating 12 tackles and a pass deflection in 2015. Smith attended Paterson Catholic and St. Mary before transferring to Hackensack prior to his high school senior year in 2012. He then ascended to East Coast Prep (Great Barrington, Mass.) in 2013 before earning an offer from the Thundering Heard in 2014.

There are a number of football players overlooked throughout N.J. every year, as the talented state produces upwards of 100 recruits annually with at least a shot at college football's highest level.
