PISCATAWAY -- Tylin Oden replaced the maddeningly inconsistent Chris Laviano as Rutgers quarterback in the first half of Saturday's game against Iowa.
It's the second appearance of the season for the 6-foot-3, 186-pound highly touted true freshman, who made his debut in the fourth quarter of a blowout victory against Howard on Sept. 10 and thus no longer was eligible for a redshirt.
Coach Chris Ash said that the No. 2 quarterback job is a week-to-week decision between Oden, Zach Allen and Giovanni Rescigno. All three plus Hayden Rettig were part of the 70-man active roster against Iowa.
