For the Rutgers basketball atmosphere, Todd Frazier gave a thumbs up.
For the Rutgers Riot Squad, he gave his trademark thumbs down.
And they erupted, chanting, "Todd Fraz-ier! Todd Fra-zier!"
The Yankees free agent was back at his alma mater Tuesday night to watch the men's basketball team face Florida State in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at Rutgers Athletics Center.
Dressed in a scarlet shirt with a white Rutgers 'R,' Frazier and his son, Blake, sat courtside with athletics director Pat Hobbs.
When he was introduced to the crowd in the first half, fans showered him with a big ovation, the student section held up a cutout of his face and the entire crowd him the Thumbs Down sign that quickly became synonymous with his Yankees tenure.
