The fan-driven narrative that second-year Rutgers coach Chris Ash needs more of "his guys" on the team should not be repeated in the presence of Ohio State coach Urban Meyer.
One of the parting pieces of advice that Meyer gives to his proteges is to avoid treating players recruited by the previous coaching staff as if they are inherited hand-me-downs.
"Every coach that leaves here I warn them that I never want to hear that excuse: You inherit them," Meyer said in a response to a question from NJ Advance Media earlier this season.
