Quarterback is usually the first position football programs look to fill within each recruiting class. They usually come off the board first because only one can play at a time, and teams will sometime take only one par class. And once that quarterback is established, teams can fill out their classes, often utilizing their future signal-callers as their top recruiters.
The Rutgers staff has aggressively attacked the position for 2018, extending offers to in-state standouts Artur Sitkowski -- who has since transferred to IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) -- Peddie's Allan Walters, Timber Creek's Devin Leary, Paramus Catholic's Shelton Applewhite, and most recently Johnny Langan of Bergen Catholic.
