Solomon Manning plans transfer from Rutgers to Monmouth after 1st trying position change

Whether he was practicing at linebacker, defensive end or fullback for Rutgers, Solomon Manning found his path to the field blocked.

So, after two position changes, Manning left the the team last week with his scholarship release.

The former Colonia High School star told NJ Advance Media that he plans to transfer in-state to Monmouth. At the FCS level, he will be immediately eligible with three years remaining.

"I wasn't really getting the playing time that I wanted to at Rutgers," Manning said. "I wanted to be able to contribute to the football team.
