PISCATAWAY – It is not often there is the type of noise for a heavyweight bout that there was headed into the second rideout portion of the second overtime period of the bout between Rutgers’ Billy Smith and Maryland’s Dawson Peck Friday night at the Rutgers Athletic Center.
Smith had just ridden Peck out in the first rideout portion of the second overtime. Then, most of the crowd of 2,407 at the RAC stood and cheered and yelled for Smith to get out.
It turns out there is some history between Smith and Peck.
