Rutgers wrestling rolls past Wisconsin, ends Big Ten season on high note

Shane Metzler had one heck of a Rutgers varsity debut.

The true freshman 125-pounder and three-time state medalist at West Morris Central, wrestling in place of No. 1-ranked Nick Suriano, packed Wisconsin's Johnny Jimenez 59 seconds into the first bout of the match as No. 21 Rutgers hammered No. 18 Wisconsin, 24-12, on Friday night at the UW Fieldhouse in Madison, Wisconsin.

Rutgers won seven bouts in the dual meet and improved to 7-7 overall, finishing with a 3-6 in the Big Ten. The Scarlet Knights will close out the regular season Sunday at Princeton.
