Rutgers women's basketball loses two assistant coaches

Coming off her first NCAA Tournament appearance in two years, Rutgers women's basketball coach C. Vivian Stringer finds herself looking to fill two holes in her coaching staff.

Stringer announced Monday the resignation of assistants Tia Jackson and Chelsea Newton. Jackson will become an assistant at the University of Miami and Newton will become an assistant at the University of Georgia.

Tasha Pointer, who has been at Rutgers for eight years, is the only full-time assistant returning. Rutgers announced that a national search to replace the assistants will begin immediately

"While the news is indeed difficult to announce, I am excited for the new journeys in both Tia and Chelsea's careers," Stringer said in a release.
