Chris Ash once was on the winning sideline of an 83-20 loss for Indiana.
It was 2010, when Ash, now Rutgers coach, was the defensive backs coach at Wisconsin.
One year later, Indiana hired Kevin Wilson, and Ash saw Wilson build the Hoosiers from rock bottom into a two-time bowl team. Wilson was fired after last season for off-field issues, but Ash, who is in the midst of his own major rebuild, hasn't forgotten how far Indiana has come.
When Rutgers (4-6, 3-4) visits Indiana (4-6, 1-6) at noon Saturday, it essentially is a bowl elimination game: The loser almost certainly will not be in the postseason, while the winner will have a do-or-die season finale.
