Just 18 months ago, Najee Clayton was hauling in passes as a wide receiver. By last September, he was competing for playing time in Rutgers' defensive backfield. Now, the sophomore is expected to be a playmaker at strongside linebacker after making a smooth transition to the position in the spring. After checking in at 203 pounds when he first was slotted in to play safety last summer as a late NCAA qualifier, the 6-foot-2 Clayton now tips the scales at 227 pounds.
