John VanBrill's hiatus from the national rankings looks like a short one.
The Rutgers 157-pounder defeated his second ranked wrestler this weekend, posting a 5-3 win over Princeton's No. 17 Mike D'Angelo as the No. 21 Scarlet Knights defeated the Tigers, 28-7, on Sunday at Jadwin Gymnasium.
VanBrill fell out of the rankings for each of the three major services this week. But after beating D'Angelo and Wisconsin's No. 14 Andrew Crone on Friday night, the Clearview High product has a strong chance to break back in ahead of the Big Ten Championships on March 3-4 in East Lansing, Michigan.
