Former Maryland swimmer and head coach at Bowling Green takes over women's S & D
Julie Hermann's first major hire - an outside search for a very visible sport - has brought a Terrapin to the Banks.
Rutgers announced that Petra Martin has been named head swimming and diving coach, replacing Phil Spiniello, who stepped down from the helm of the program in March.. Martin arrives at Rutgers following a five-year stint as head coach at Bowling Green State University, where she guided the program to a top-three finish at the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championships in three consecutive seasons.
