The Rutgers men’s basketball team went on the road for the first time all season and left with its biggest win so far, upsetting Miami (5-2) by the score of 57-54. The Hurricanes had won 19 straight non-conference games at home, but the streak is over. The Scarlet Knights played tremendous team defense and made some clutch baskets within its halfcourt offense to outplay a more talented Miami team. It was one of the biggest victories in Steve Pikiell’s two-plus seasons on the job and gives this young squad a world of confidence as Big Ten play opens this weekend.
