Rutgers star Leonte Carroo pleads not guilty to simple assault charge, waives first court date

PISCATAWAY – Rutgers football star Leonte Carroo entered a plea of not guilty on charges of simple assault under domestic violence and waived his court date set for today, according to paperwork obtained by Gannett New Jersey from the Piscataway municipal courthouse.

The plea was submitted in writing by Carroo’s attorney.

Carroo’s first appearance now is scheduled for Oct. 1.
