Rutgers won't have its full team during spring camp, which is either discouraging or a golden opportunity for others who might have gotten one, depending on how you look at it.
One of Rutgers' best players is tearing up the Big Ten base paths in baseball. Others are injured and either limited or out for spring camp. Several potential impact players next fall are still awaiting receipt of their high school diplomas.
Still, the expectation is that Rutgers should have a more productive camp in Year 2 of the Chris Ash era than it did in Year 1, when, despite a strong senior presence, there were plenty of growing pains.
